About Us
In 1968, Harold Popma founded Lily Products of Michigan, Inc. In the beginning, he focused much of his time in the agriculture industry partnering with a local university to collect data and prove the effectiveness of Oxine, a product we still distribute 50 years later. Through distribution of Oxine and growing relationships with customers their needs began to grow for additional cleaning products. This led to the distribution of all-purpose chemicals for general cleaning to multiple industries. Distribution growth led to a rising cost that directly affected customers, ultimately influencing the idea of Lily Products becoming a manufacturer.
This became a reality in 1981 when Lily Products moved to its current location in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This manufacturing facility included a laboratory to focus on solutions specific to our customer’s needs. The addition of a chemist to the team quickly led to innovating products beyond our typical all-purpose cleaners and industries that utilized our products for:
